A macro tracker starts with the food
Heyberry is an AI macro tracker that estimates protein, carbs and fat from the foods in a meal. Add a photo, type a description, scan a barcode or find a recipe by name or link. Review the returned foods and grams before logging the meal.
An estimated macro total depends on ingredients and quantities. Recognizing chicken does not establish its weight. Identifying yogurt does not establish whether it is plain, sweetened or a different fat percentage. Check those details before treating the result as a useful record.
Review each macro in context
Protein: check the portion of the foods supplying it. If the estimate includes two eggs but you ate one, correcting that ingredient matters even when the full meal's calorie number looks plausible.
Carbs: keep cooked and uncooked amounts distinct. A rice portion weighed after cooking should not be matched to the same gram amount of dry rice. In a mixed recipe, the portion you ate is a fraction of the whole batch.
Fat: remember cooking oil, butter, dressing and sauces. Small amounts can be difficult to see in a photo. A description or a known recipe can supply information that the camera lacks.
These are checks on an entry, not recommendations for a personal macro target. This page does not prescribe a diet or a protein goal.
Correct the ingredient, then check the total
Heyberry shows individual foods and estimated grams. You can change the grams or use Fix with a note to describe a correction. Review the updated breakdown before saving it to your daily log.
Do not assume that adjusting the calorie total alone fixes the macro split. Different combinations of ingredients can produce similar calories and different amounts of protein, carbs and fat. For packaged foods, use the product and serving amount on the actual label as your reference.
Use the method that gives you the most information
| Meal | Useful method | What can still go wrong |
|---|---|---|
| Packaged snack | Barcode and label | Wrong product record or serving amount |
| Visible plate | Photo and corrections | Hidden ingredients or estimated weight |
| Homemade batch | Ingredients and recipe servings | Substitutions or unequal portions |
| Meal without a photo | Text description | Missing amounts or preparation details |
The barcode versus photo guide goes through those choices. For leftovers, use the same recipe reference and adjust the fraction you ate. Our homemade food guide shows the arithmetic for portions; the same portion fraction applies to recipe macro totals.
Cost and availability
Heyberry is free to download and set up. Meal and macro logging requires Heyberry Pro. US pricing is $29.99 yearly with a 3-day free trial for eligible new subscribers, or $9.99 monthly. The purchase screen shows your actual offer. The current download supports iPhone; Android is coming.
